Female Hair Loss Treatment

If you are losing your hair, you may want to look into female hair loss treatment options. Some women suffer from hair loss regardless of age and it seems that the frequency of women losing their hair has increased over time. Maybe it just is that more cases are being reported by women trying to figure out how to handle this very serious problem.

There are several ways to treat hair loss. Let me caution you though, before trying anything you may want to consult your doctor. Some female hair loss treatment options are only available from your doctor so see what he or she recommends so you stay safe.

Products like Rogaine or Provillus are available to stop hair loss and promote hair growth in women. These products are also used by men with the difference being the formulas used to make them. Women need a different formulation than men do when it comes to hair loss treatment.

If your hair loss is from medical treatment for cancer, hair loss products are not recommended and when that medical treatment is completed, your hair should grow back just fine.

If there is seemingly no reason for the hair loss you can be sure that there is some underlying condition that may be unknown to you at the time that is causing your hair loss. Conditions like hypothyroidism or vitamin deficiencies can be contributing factors to hair loss in women, not to mention menopause.

Menopause can throw your body into a tailspin and cause so many new things to happen to your body, hair loss is just one more thing that can happen. It can also be the most distressing thing that can happen too. Women aren't supposed to lose their hair. We have no other options besides wearing wigs for the rest of our lives right? Wrong.

There are treatments like the two I stated above and new ones coming to light all the time. You do not have to settle for wearing a wig or some other head covering to hide the fact you are losing your hair.

Be careful though, if you hear about some new treatment, talk to your doctor about it before you actually start using it. You do not want to cause more harm than good. You do not want to end up completely bald, do you? I didn't think so.

There are other forms of treatment for hair loss that you can try like essential oils. The two most effective essential oils are bay oil and lavender oil. Equal parts of each oil are mixed and massaged into the scalp. Massaging the oil into your scalp accomplishes two things, the oil gets where it needs to be and you get a good massage which increases blood flow to the area. Increased blood flow can itself improve the condition of your hair and scalp.

Remember to talk to your doctor about any female hair loss treatments before trying them so you can be sure to stay safe.
